Stuart Pecan Trees

DESCRIPTION: The Stuart Pecan tree is considered by many to be the best all-around pecan tree. It is a Paper Shelled Pecan that is considered Scab resistant. Pecan Trees produce delicious nuts and provide lots of shade as well.

YIELD: It yields 40-52 nuts per pound, and the nuts are Medium to large and easy to crack open because of their thin and fragile shell. 

TASTE: Inside, the kernel is plump and firm-textured with a rich flavor.

TREE SIZE: Stuart Pecan trees grow to a mature height of 75 to 100 feet and a mature width of 40 - 70 feet.

USDA HARDINESS ZONES: It is hardy in Zones 6-10 and does best in full sun.

SOIL: The soil should be deep, moist, and well-drained.

SUNLIGHT: They do best in full sun (6-8 Hours).

GROWTH RATE: Moderate

HARVEST TIME: Mid October YEARS TO BEAR 8-10 Years

DESIRABLE Pecan Trees

DESCRIPTION: Desirable Pecan Trees are Paper Shelled and have medium-large soft shelled pecans. They are considered very productive. The Desirable Pecans are noted for their good eating quality, and the large sizes of the trees. Pecan Trees produce delicious nuts and provide lots of shade as well. Desirable Pecan Trees are also disease and scab-resistant and grow well in high humidity areas.

YIELD: On average They yield 44 nuts per pound, and the nuts are large and easy to crack open because of their thin and fragile shell. 

TASTE: They have a good flavor with a crisp, firm texture. The kernel is known for its nutty flavor and crunchy taste. It is a favorite of tourist across the south.

TREE SIZE: Desirable Pecan trees grow to a mature height of 60 to 80 feet and a mature width of 60 - 80 feet.

DESCRIPTION: PAWNEE Pecan Trees are Paper Shelled and have become one of the most popular pecan trees. They are a great choice for people with a limited amount of space. PAWNEE Pecan Trees are also moderately disease and scab-resistant and is extremely heat - tolerant. This makes is a great choice for those living in the south. Pecan Trees produce delicious nuts and provide lots of shade as well.

YIELD: On average They yield 45 - 56 nuts per pound, and the nuts are large thinned shelled and easy to crack open.

TASTE: They have a real rich and buttery taste

TREE SIZE: Desirable Pecan trees grow to a mature height of 20 to 30 feet and a mature width of 15 - 25 feet.

DESCRIPTION: CHOCTAW Pecan Trees are Paper Shelled and are a good choice to be planted in yards. They are known to be Scab and Disease resistant. Pecan Trees produce delicious nuts and provide lots of shade as well.

YIELD: They are an early producer. On average they yield 40 - 50 nuts per pound, and the nuts are large and very thinned shelled.

TASTE: They have sweet taste and crunchy texture.

TREE SIZE: Choctaw Pecan trees grow to a mature height of 40 feet and a mature width of 30 feet.

USDA HARDINESS ZONES: It is hardy in Zones 6-9 and does best in full sun.

SOIL: The soil should be deep loamy, moist, and well-drained.

SUNLIGHT: They do best in full sun (6-8 Hours).

ELLIOT Pecan Trees

DESCRIPTION: ELLIOT Pecan Trees are Paper Shelled and are drought tolerant, and able to withstand the dry and hot conditions found in most southern regions. However, Elliot Pecan Trees can also withstand frost and snow by being cold hardy to 0 degrees Fahrenheit. They have excellent Scab resistance. Pecan Trees produce delicious nuts and provide lots of shade as well. 

YIELD: They produce small nuts. On average they yield 77 nuts per pound, and are thinned shelled.

TASTE: Elliot Pecans have a sweet and buttery flavor with a hickory finish that's perfect for baking and cooking.

TREE SIZE: ELLIOT Pecan trees grow to a mature height of 70 - 100 feet and a mature width of 40 - 75 feet.

USDA HARDINESS ZONES: It is hardy in Zones 6-9 and does best in full sun.

SOIL: The soil should be deep loamy, moist, and well-drained.

The fruit from native America Pawpaw trees look very similar to mangos and are green and kidney-shaped.  They are about 6 inches long and 3 inches wide.

 

When cut in half, the interior reveals a yellow, custard-like pulp with two rows of large seeds.

 

A Pawpaw can weigh from ½ to 1 pound and is the largest edible fruit native to North America.

 

Paw Paws can be eaten raw or used in ice cream, puddings, smoothies, butter (such as apple butter) and in baked goods like cookies and pies.

 

Pawpaw trees are not subject to the high level of pests and diseases that many other fruit trees are.

They are native to the United States, deer resistant and provide fruit and attractive yellow fall color.

 

Each adult Pawpaw tree can produce between 25 and 50 pounds of fruit each year.

 

They taste like a cross between a banana and a mango with a splash of pineapple.

 

Native American Pawpaw trees typically get 15 - 20 feet tall and 10 feet wide

 

They grow in USDA HARDINESS ZONES 5 - 9 and thrive in moist, fertile, well-drained soils.

Young Pawpaw trees are sensitive to full sunlight and do best with filtered sun for the first year or two.

 

Once mature, they are most productive in full sun. They will tolerate some shade but will produce less fruit.

 

They have a Moderate GROWTH RATE and the fruit is harvested in August – October.

 

They take 2 - 5 years TO BEAR fruit.

 

Native American Pawpaw trees are not self-fertile. You must have at least two trees and the more the better.

BLACK AMERICAN NATIVE MULBERRY TREES

BLACK AMERICAN NATIVE MULBERRY TREES

 

Native Black Mulberry trees average 40 feet tall and feature dark purple (almost black) berries that are quite large when ripe.

 

The large black colored berries can get up to 2″ long and taste like blackberries! Mulberries are an important early season source of food for deer and game.

 

They are Great for eating fresh or making syrup, jelly, jams and sherbets. They are Heavy producers.

 

Mulberries have a Rich flavor similar to that of blackberries.

 

Native Black Mulberry trees get 30 - 40 feet tall and 15 - 20 feet wide.

 

They grow in USDA HARDINESS ZONES

7 - 10 and do best in well drained, sandy clay or loam soil.

 

They prefer Full sun and have a fast growth rate.

 

Mulberries are HARVESTED in Early Summer and usually take 2 - 3 years to bear fruit.

 

Native Black Mulberry trees are Self-pollinating but produce a larger crop when planted in multiples.
