BROWN TURKEY FIG TREES

Brown Turkey figs are sweet, delicious fruits that have rusty red to purplish skin and richly toned pink flesh.

 

They are known for being an all-around quality fig, enjoyable for fresh eating and good for preserving as well.

 

It is one of the all-time favorite fig trees for home gardeners. A low maintenance fig tree that is hugely popular.

 

They are a Heavy producer of two crops each year of medium brown figs.

 

They have a Mild and sweet taste.

 

BROWN TURKEY FIG TREES get 10 - 25 feet tall and 10 - 15 feet wide.

They grow in USDA HARDINESS ZONES 7 - 11 and do best in Loamy, well-drained soil.

 

They prefer Full sun and have a moderate growth rate.

 

They are normally harvested in June and take 1 – 2 years to bear fruit.

 

They are Self-pollinating and No additional fig trees are required.

 

CELESTE FIG TREES

Celeste fig trees produce figs that are medium in size and have light brown to purple skin with bright pink flesh.

 

They are a very popular eaten fresh as a dessert fruit and are also one of the best figs for drying and making preserves.

 

This variety is more-cold hardy than most other types of figs and yet it is also heat tolerant at the same time.

 

They are known for being pest and disease resistant and are very widely planted.

 

It is a compact tree that is container friendly and very easy to grow.

They are Heavy producers of small to medium size, extremely sweet brown figs.

 

Each mature tree should produce 30 to 50 pounds of figs per year.

 

It’s flesh is juicy, very sweet and it has been nicknamed the “sugar fig” because of its sweetness.

 

Celeste Fig Trees typically get 7 - 10 feet tall and 7 - 10 feet wide.

 

They grow in USDA HARDINESS ZONES 6 - 9 and like Loamy, well-drained soil.

 

They do best in Full sun and have a Fast growth rate.  They are usually harvested in July and take 1 – 2 YEARS TO BEAR.

CHICAGO COLD HARDY FIG TREES

 

The Chicago Hardy Fig tree is known for being especially cold hardy and producing small, brown to purple-colored figs.

 

The inside of the fruit is colored a lovely shade that looks like strawberry jam.

 

It is productive and easy to grow, exhibiting drought-tolerance once established.

 

They are heat tolerant and are a heavy producer of small, brown to purple-colored figs.

 

They have a sweet taste.

Chicago Hardy Fig trees typically get TREE SIZE 10 - 15 feet tall and 9 - 12 wide.

 

They grow in USDA HARDINESS ZONES 5 – 10 and do best in Loamy, well-drained soil.

 

They like Partial shade to full sun and have a moderate growth rate. 

 

They are harvested July through frost and take 1 -2 YEARS TO BEAR.
